Thank you, Deborah, for keeping your readers updated. These wildfires are so dangerous and so frightening. Global warming, climate change, severe heat and drought will continue to make conditions more and more favorable for wild fires. We have even experienced one here in MI (in the UP) which is quite rare. The MI fire didn't do near the damage the fires out west are doing. I pray for all, humans, animals, and the plants that sustain us.

Deb Robson

Thanks so much, Lindy. Were very aware that climate change has a lot to do with this. Yes, some of it is cyclical weather patterns, but theres more than that at play here.

One of the hardest parts for me about the fire is NOT being able to bike (because of air quality), which is one of my little efforts to reduce the climate change problem. Its a tiny drop in the bucket, but thats the only way a bucket gets filled: with drops.

Kris

Huge thanks to Deb, who despite her frenetic teaching schedule, has opened her heart, her home, and her back yard to give me sanctuary from the fire. The peace here is extremely healing--thank you, Deb!

Deborah Robson

As I've said, Kris, the house may be a mess but the welcome is warm.

magnusmog

Wishing all the displaced people and animals well.

Natalie

That is crazy! Thoughts and prayers go out to all of you. BWD are so beautiful!

LabCat

Thank you for letting us know what is going on for the people and the animals affected by the wild fires

Barbro

Frightening! I'm glad you've been able to evacuate the animals. I dare not think about the rest. Hugs and thoughts to all!

Paula Johanson

Exciting to hear your story and see the animals. Good wishes for you all. And I hope when you've got some time after the crisis that you can send me a note -- I'm looking for contact information for Priscilla Gibson-Roberts.

Kris B.

Keep safe. Thinking of you and all the beasties!

Deb Robson

Thanks. Were all good: and Im in Alberta, teaching. But Im following developments closely, as you might imagine, and friends and beasts are still sheltering on the home front.
