You need to call them and immediately ask to speak to a supervisor and tell them if they don't solve your problem you are going to have your lawyer contact them and sue them (personally perhaps) for putting you out of business. Don't take no for an answer. Either get the person you talked to who was most helpful or a supervisor on the phone. It's time to stop letting these a-holes ruin your life and business. It's time to get pissed off. REALLY pissed off.

P.S. I have an old copy of PageMaker if you want to use that and just give a PDF to the printer. Hahhaa. What a load of crap. I'm pissed off for you, so if you need any pissed off energy, let me know and I will send it your way.

Deborah Robson

I'm incredibly frustrated. And I *do* just send PDFs to the printer, so if I can keep this thing stable enough to get to the PDF stage (with proofreading, corrections, final images, and index), then I'm over the primary hurdle.

All software licenses say they are not responsible for losses incurred through its use. I don't blame them, but this is why.

Right now, I don't have the energy to call again. Maybe tomorrow. The guy on Friday was like spending an hour with bad-cop/good-cop. I only hung in because of the hope that he might be as smart as he thought he was and come up with an answer!

Awww, I miss my red merle girl.

The aussie puppy sounds like a cutie.

Deborah Robson

I miss our sweet blue merle Aussie, Aslan's Mountain Heather.

I second Donna's comments - both of them. I do pissed off really well and I'm good at getting supervisors/managers/people in charge to take responsiblity. (Witness the brand new upgraded Gateway PC I told you about!) You are simply too nice (in this case, yes it's possible to be too nice and understanding!) and must find the *itch in you.

I understand not having the mental energy to deal with it, though, so I'm sending warm hugs and loads of pissed off energy to you...

Another vote for dishing some attitude at these creatures: my late mother told me that I should "go along to get along" and all that ever got me was getting taken advantage of.

In some ways, us encouraging you to lose it reminds me of an early scene in "Tootsie," when Teri Garr is trying to get psyched up to go in and read for the part that eventually makes Dustin Hoffman a star. He walks her to the studio and starts insulting her to get that pissy attitude.

C'mon! You can do this! :-)

I'm miserably bad at confrontation calls, so no help there. I will say that I hope to own a red Aussie (red tri by preference, but red bi or merle would be fine) before I die. Aussies are the best.

(current aussies: 1 self blue merle and 1 black tri.)

Deborah Robson

Thanks for all the encouragement and the Aussie talk {grin}.

I'm not bashful about standing up for my rights, although I usually focus on GETTING THE JOB DONE the quickest way. It's not clear right now what that is, although I made some progress today. With vellum and a permanent-ink PEN.

Well, I hate to say it, but I agree with Donna and others. You need to just ask for a supervisor and hold them accountable--you've spent too much time and money on this already. In fact, you might also send an email listing everyone you've talked to and how you need a solution or this is going to put you out of business. I imagine the experience would take an hour, so yeah, you do need the mental energy for it. However, at this point, it's absolutely necessary.

Thank goodness for spinning and puppies. We all need that every now and again. I'm relying on it heavily right now (along with a little pie) and my work issues are no where near as upsetting as yours!
